loved this! Sorry to be away for so long. I’ve been traveling and reeling from teenager angst. Argh! Too much, already, I say!
I read a great book recently and thought of you. The Red Queen. Didn’t you review that a while ago? Just curious if you did and what you thought of it. I couldn’t find it on your site.
Cheers to you!
Sue

Hi Sue! I hope everything’s calmed down for you. I did read The Red Queen and really enjoyed it. I’m ashamed to admit though I haven’t reviewed it yet because I’ve gotten a little bogged down with NetGalley reviews. I’ve got no self control!

No shame! I’ve caught the reading bug as well! So much fun diving into new books.

Thanks Sue. I really think I’m out of control though! LOL! Have you read The Rook, by Sharon Cameron? That’s another one I need to review. It’s a retelling of The Scarlet Pimpernel. I think it’s one of my favorite books so far this year.

Oh I can’t wait! Sounds awesome! Have you read “Teardrop” by Lauren Kate? Great first book although I’m not loving book 2.

Would you believe I have an autographed copy of that on my bookshelf? I just haven’t had a chance to read it yet. That’s bad news about the sequel though.😕

You do? Wow! Well, maybe I waited too long to read it? Seemed contrived to me. Oh well, some books are enough- it seems like the industry is always pushing for sequels. This one needs book two – just wish it was crafted better.

Do you mean you waited too long to read Teardrop, Sue? Does it look like the story’s ending with Waterfall?

Yes- too long between teardrop and waterfall. I haven’t finished the second to knowing it’s the conclusion. Not sure why the first book captured me so well and the second felt flat. Don’t want to give anything away in case you read it. I hate spoilers and hope I haven’t spoiled this read for you!

I may press on with book two. But the red queen swept me away so it’s hard when one doesn’t have as strong a pull. I love getting lost in a new world.
