Another favorite YA read from last year was True Born, I’ve been looking forward to the second book. While it’s not coming out until April 4th, 2016, here’s the awesome cover and synopsis.
Abandoned by her family in Plague-ridden Dominion City, eighteen-year-old Lucy Fox has no choice but to rely upon the kindness of the True Borns, a renegade group of genetically enhanced humans, to save her twin sister, Margot. But Nolan Storm, their mysterious leader, has his own agenda. When Storm backtracks on his promise to rescue Margot, Lucy takes her fate into her own hands and sets off for Russia with her True Born bodyguard and maybe-something-more, the lethal yet beautiful Jared Price. In Russia, there’s been whispered rumors of a Plague Cure.
While Lucy fights her magnetic attraction to Jared, anxious that his loyalty to Storm will hurt her chances of finding her sister, they quickly discover that all is not as it appears…and discovering the secrets contained in the Fox sisters’ blood before they wind up dead is just the beginning??
L.E. Sterling had an early obsession with sci-fi, fantasy and romance to which she remained faithful even through an M.A. in Creative Writing and a PhD in English Literature — where she completed a thesis on magical representation. She is the author of two previous novels, the cult hit YA novel The Originals (under pen name L.E. Vollick) dubbed “the Catcher in the Rye of a new generation” by one reviewer, and the urban fantasy Pluto’s Gate.As they say in Dominion, sometimes it’s not you…it’s your DNA.
Originally hailing from Parry Sound, Ontario, L.E. spent most of her summers roaming across Canada with her father, a hippie musician, her brothers and an occasional stray mutt–inspiring her writing career. She currently lives in Toronto, Ontario.

That’s a good cover indeed. It makes its point well. No need to guess what the book is about, or the genre.
Best wishes, Pete.

It is eye-catching Pete, isn’t it? I also like it because it builds upon the first book’s cover and it picks up on something directly from the plot.💁🏻

I’ve always liked the True Born cover. And I definitely like the cover for True North, too! Still need to get around to reading book one though… Gosh… there’s just not enough time to read every single book I want to. It seems like I say that about every book I come across… “Oh, I have been wanting to read that, just haven’t yet…” LOL!!

Gosh, I know the feeling. I’ve hit the request button on NetGalley WAY too many times. So I’m kinda in a big, giant NetGalley hole right now that I’m trying to slowly dig myself out of. Good luck to you! Hopefully we can both get caught up soon!!

It’s goes with the storyline too. I hate it when I read a book and then realize the cover had nothing to do with the story.
