Synopsis: Jack Sparks died while writing this book. This is the account of his final days.
In 2014, Jack Sparks–the controversial pop culture journalist–died in mysterious circumstances.
To his fans, Jack was a fearless rebel; to his detractors, he was a talentless hack. Either way, his death came as a shock to everyone.
It was no secret that Jack had been researching the occult for his new book. He’d already triggered a furious Twitter storm by mocking an exorcism he witnessed in rural Italy.
Then there was that video: thirty-six seconds of chilling footage that Jack repeatedly claimed was not of his own making, yet was posted from his own YouTube account.
Nobody knew what happened to Jack in the days that followed–until now. This book, compiled from the files found after his death, reveal the chilling details of Jack’s final hours.
Although I wish it had been a little scarier The Last Days of Jack Sparks is definitely a fun and quirky read. The formatting of the story is in the style of a book that has been published posthumously, by Jack’s brother Alistair, who has gathered together all of his research and rough drafts as well as interviews and recorded conversations with people Jack met while he was attempting his big comeback. There’s really no other way to put this, but Jack is a juvenile, smug, egotistical and arrogant jerk. He makes no effort to hide his skepticism of the supernatural, and it’s this disdain that winds up eventually causing his death. But he’s a fascinating character nonetheless, especially when as you read, his version of events are frequently contradicted by other people, including his brother. And despite his many personality flaws, he has a sarcastic and biting sense of humor that had me reluctantly chuckling at times. As for the question of what actually happened to Jack Sparks, the answer when it came, definitely was a clever surprise. The story itself is original and entertaining, and the ending is positively brilliant! The Last Days of Jack Sparks definitely stands out from other books in this genre and I highly recommend it to fans of light horror.

I once agreed to review a ‘light horror’ book. The author assured me there were no monsters or spooky things. Then why was it in the Horror genre? BECAUSE THERE WAS ENOUGH BLOOD TO MAKE DOZENS OF PEOPLE!
I made Daffy Duck look calm.
And I gave the book four stars! LOL! 😉

Oh Dear! But you still gave the book 4 stars so that’s something!😊 There is some bloody parts here, but wasn’t too bad. Then again Felicia I’m not sure you should trust me on this because I revel in blood and guts as long as it’s well written. *I swear I’m not a serial killer!*😉

There was a little blood and gore Natasha, especially near the end, but I didn’t think it was bad. Of course I’m a Stephen King fanatic, so I’m not sure if my idea of light horror would be the same as yours! LOL!😁
