One of the places where we used to get our best soldiers from. Oh, and maple syrup of course. My second cousin lives in the middle of it, somewhere, but I haven’t seen her for 50 years. And Quebec doesn’t like the Queen. (That’s alright, I can’t stand her anyway, and I’m English)
That just about sums up what I know about Canada. I forgot, it’s very big. One of the largest countries in the world. Just remembered, Donald Sutherland, and Celine Dion.
Happy 150th, to the people we always think are Americans anyway. π
Best wishes, Pete.

As a Canadian living in Australia for 16 years (and becoming a citizen too) I thank you for your kind words about my homeland. I have never been prouder of Canada than this year with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau leading our country into a bright and wonderful future. π

It was a huge thing and my life has changed dramatically even in the time I’ve been here. But, I still love Canada and hope to get back there in another year or two for a visit. π

Dear Kim,
I love your posts.
It was fun keeping track of all the events surrounding CANADIANS celebrating the 150th birthday of its July 1st Canada Day.
Canada made its special day an event to be proud! And I definitely approve of the huge rubber duckey.

i have no idea what the rules are but it is scary to think of the damage he is doing and the mockery of the presidential office across the world. 4 years is a LONG time

I know! And as unbelievable as it is, at the end of his first term we could be facing another 4years.π’

My ancestor emigrated from France and landed in Canada in the 1750’s to fight the British. My grandfather emigrated from Canada to the U.S. I was born in the U.S. and “returned” to France (my mother’s homeland).
There must be a lesson in all of this: Canada, a nice place to visit, but sooner or later you have to go back to France.
