On July 4, 2017, NPR News tweeted the entire US Constitution to honor the US July 4th Independence day, our day of celebrating when this country broke away from the United Kingdom to become the USA.
But conservatives who were not familiar with this famous document took offense to certain passages which they believed described the republican President Donald Trump in an unflattering way. And they responded, accordingly.
Dear Conservatives, “Methinks thou protest too much.”

From over here, it seems that the only thing American right-wingers understand about their own constitution is ‘The Right To Bear Arms’. This was a great spoof by NPR, exposing so much ignorance, and dangling a bait that was snapped up by the ignorant.

I do believe you’re right Pete. And what’s especially sad about this is that NPR didn’t bait them intentionally. They have been reading the Declaration of Independence on their Morning Edition for 29 years. This year, given the popularity of Twitter, they put it on there as well. Who could have predicted the brouhaha that resulted?😒

Sad times Kim, I know this comment is off the topic but the BBC announced today ‘South Park’ is laying off the Trump jokes and Trump Jr. is nearly having orgasms on Twitter celebrating.
Ok S.P. isn’t everyone’s cup of tea (for me it’s tooo crass and juvenile but that’s ok) HOWEVER the show adheres to principles of Freedom of expression and it’s a shame if media bosses are attempting to silence free speech? 🙂
