Pure Imagination
Hold your breath
Make a wish
Count to three
~
Come with me
And you’ll be
In a world of pure imagination
Take a look
And you’ll see
Into your imagination
We’ll begin
With a spin
Traveling in
The world of my creation
What we’ll see
Will defy
Explanation
If you want to view paradise
Simply look around and view it
Anything you want to, do it
Wanta change the world?
There’s nothing
To it
There is no
Life I know
To compare with
Pure imagination
Living there
You’ll be free
If you truly wish to be
If you want to view paradise
Simply look around and view it
Anything you want to, do it
Wanta change the world?
There’s nothing
To it
There is no
Life I know
To compare with
Pure imagination
Living there
You’ll be free
If you truly
Wish to be

You know, I was going to post about the government shutdown and Trump’s first year in office and how our country is spiraling out of control, and then I thought “ Nope. We need a break from all that.” One thing did make me happy about the shutdown though. Trump had to cancel his big weekend celebration/fundraiser he had planned at Mar-a-Lago. I’ll bet he’s not a happy camper about that. #trumpshutdown

Absolutely. I don’t know what possessed Tim Burton and Johnny Depp. Too much hubris perhaps?🤷🏻♀️

I agree with FR. The Gene Wilder original film captured the spirit of the book so well. And the song was great!
Best wishes, Pete.

Love Gene Wilder.. He is wonderful in that movie. Love the book too. Loved him in Young Frankenstein also, and the movies he and Gilda Radner did together were a riot.

I was watching this movie over Christmas and it is still fresh as a daisy. I love this song, particularly the opening lines. The song really sweeps you into the story and events.

I’ve always preferred the 1971 version over the 2005 one. 😀 I do need to rewatch the latter after the day I finally read the book though. Have you ever read the sequel to it? Do you think it should be adapted into a movie? 😛

Yes, lovely lines – was always captivated by this, and Wilder’s performance was so unique compared to th rest of his zany output.
