While there’s been basically crickets from the GOP, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham released this statement yesterday after Michael Cohen accepted a guilty plea and Paul Manafort was found guilty of eight charges.
The American legal system is working its will in both the Paul Manafort and Michael Cohen cases.
Thus far, there have yet to be any charges or convictions for colluding with the the Russian government by any member of the Trump campaign in the 2016 election.
It’s important to let this process continue without interference.

Hmm. But back in 1999, during the impeachment proceedings against President Bill Clinton, then Representative Graham seemed to feel a little differently. This clip was shown on Lawrence O’Donnell’s MSNBC show last night.

So the point I’m try to make is that you don’t even have to be convicted of a crime to lose your job in this Constitutional republic. If this body determines that your conduct as a public official is clearly out of bounds…because impeachment is not about punishment. Impeachment is about cleansing the office. Impeachment is about restoring honor and integrity to the office.
Um, yeah.
