This past week, as I was trying to avoid watching the news (mainly unsuccessfully), I had time to watch Harlan Coben ‘s Safe on Netflix. He’s one of my favorite suspense/thriller authors, and I’m happy to say this eight episode series is just as full of shocking twists and turns as his books. So, if you have Netflix and you haven’t watched this yet, you definitely should.
In addition to a great story and outstanding cast, there was another thing that caught my attention. The theme song that played at the beginning of each episode is one of those songs that gets stuck in your head. About midway through my binge watching I had to find out what this song was and who was the artist. The song is Glitter & Gold, and the singer is Barns Courtney, a British folk/pop/rock musician. He may look like a young British schoolboy, but he has the gritty voice of a whisky-fueled old soul. The song is amazing so check it out.
And if that doesn’t make you want to embrace your inner badass, check out Fire.

Haha😂 Well, Altered Carbon is really good too. Definitely worth the watch. As for Gundam Unicorn, there are so many different Gundam shows out there, I have to really dive into this in the right way at some point 😊😊

he’s quite new as a solo artist, though his songs so far are doing well as theme tunes to sports shows, ‘Safe” and a few commercials! And thats just those 2 you’ve put on here! He’s working on an album so more to come from him.

I LOVE Barns Courtney! I saw him in concert at a small venue last fall, and he was great live. He also hung out with us afterwards for a bit, which was kind of weird (cheesy fangirl moment) but way cool!

I’m hooked on Netflix right now. I haven’t been feeling well and though I’ve been reading, I just haven’t had the energy to write my reviews (seriously low on spoons lol). So instead I’ve been binging on TV. I started watching Grey’s Anatomy and I’m on Season 12 now. So many good shows on there and now I definitely want to watch this one too.

Sounds good! I hate Harlan Coben’s writing… (I know gasp shock) but, maybe he’s like Stephen King and better in other forms like TV and movie (… All my opinions are my own… Don’t hate me. 😂😂)

I just found he’s one of those writers who “hints” at things in his book to the point that it becomes frustrating. Or a lot of the time I find the ending too obvious… I’M SORRY!! DON’T HATE ME!!! 😢😢 KIM… TAKE YOUR HAND OFF THAT UNFOLLOW BUTTON!! 😭😭

It’s okay my friend. I forgive you. I do usually figure out the villain way before the ending, but I just find his stories so much fun. For me, they’re the equivalent of “popcorn movies.”
