I know I just shared one of these posts with Taylor Swift’s You Need to Calm Down, but today, a never-before-released music video from the incomparable Freddie Mercury was released by his friend/collaborator, David Clark. The 1986 video, filmed on the empty stage at Dominion Theatre in London, showcases not only Freddie’s breathtaking vocals as he sings accompanied only by a piano, but also, twenty-eight years after his death, proves how timely and relevant he continues to be.

Not only did he write some great songs, he could sing them better than anyone else too.
Best wishes, Pete.

Thanks so much for sharing, Kim! Had no idea this had been released. What a voice, and what a man ❤
Have you watched Bohemian Rhapsody? Gave me chills, and Rami Malek was just phenomenal. Such a great tribute, even if a lot of it was toned down. I honestly cried at the end.

I haven’t seen it yet Sophie, but we’re splurging on HBO next month so that’s going to be the first thing I watch.

Wonder why he held on to it for so long?

From what I understand Fraggle, this is a stripped down version of the song which was part of the 1985 musical, Time. I watched the original online and as expected, it’s awesome, but this, with just Freddie and the piano gave me goosebumps. Clark said they actually recorded this before doing the one that was in the show.

He’s still such a larger than life presence Karen.

Yes, Kim and he was larger than life. He died too young. The entertainment field is fraught with creative people who died young. Karen 🙂
