I’ve been doing a lot of pontificating for the last 48 hours, but I’m climbing off my soapbox (temporarily). I know when tragedies occur, whether they’re man-made or not, we all feel so helpless. Here are a few ways to help victims and their families from this past weekend’s violence as well as last week’s Gilroy Garlic Festival shooting.

And as always, you’re going too kind Michel. This is just my very small way of doing something constructive.

Nice of you to do this, Kim. 🙂
I was thinking about how quickly New Zealand changed their gun laws after the Christchurch shooting. It might be a good time to agitate for a similar campaign in the USA. It is often said that it is too difficult, but this explains how it can be done in a country that was shocked by one mass shooting.

Thanks Pete. It was amazing the speed in which NZ changed their gun laws. Our laws are a bit different as they’re all under the umbrella of the 2nd amendment. Also, everyone in NZ was pretty much united in recognizing that their laws had to be changed, which sadly is not the case here.
That’s a great link. We have had gun “buy back” programs run by police on a local level, but I’m not sure how successful they’ve been.
