Well I’m sad for you Kim, but I never heard of him, or any of these songs, which is odd as I know most 70’s rockers from the US of A. It’s always poignant when one of our heroes from teenage years dies put his records on, grab a beer/wine/cheeryaid and give him a good send off! 😘

that should have been cherryaid, but actually cheeryaid sounds better 🙂

All great songs, but Two Tickets to Paradise will be the one most people remember. I loved sitting back and listening to all of these. RIP Eddie Money.

I think my top two are Two Tickets to Paradise and Take Me Home Tonight. But regardless, he was a fantastic singer and songwriter.

Like FR, I confess that I didn’t know his name, and had never heard of him.
He must have completely avoided the UK music scene.
Still, I am sorry that you have lost him.
Best wishes, Pete.

Thanks Pete. He was a pretty big name here in the late 70s through the 80s, but I’m not shocked that his music didn’t make it over to the UK.

So sad that he’s gone. I enjoyed his music and was sad when I heard he’d announced having cancer. He’ll be missed 😦

My older brother is a huge Eddie Money fan, so I heard a lot of music growing up. I’m a fan as well 🙂 He was truly an original, may his music live on.

An “original” is the perfect way to describe him.

He had a sound all his own. I was lucky enough to see him sing at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk some years back.

That’s a bummer. I didn’t even realize he was ill. His musical always defines the 80s for me. Thanks for posting, Kim.

He was diagnosed late last year and announced it a few weeks ago. When I think of the 80s his is a name that always pops into my head.
