Bill Taylor, current acting ambassador at the US embassy in Kyiv.

After watching 6+ hours of testimony today, the biggest takeaway for me was Bill Taylor’s revelation that since his closed door deposition on October 22, one of his staffers informed him that they overheard Gordon Sondland, the US ambassador to the EU, tell Mr. Trump during a phone call on July 26, the day after Mr. Trump’s “perfect” phone call with President Zelensky, “that the Ukrainians were ready to move forward” with “the investigations.” Taylor further stated: “Following the call with President Trump, the member of my staff asked Ambassador Sondland what President Trump thought about Ukraine. Ambassador Sondland responded that Trump “cares more about the investigation of Biden, which Giuliani was pressing for. It’s already being reported that the House Intelligence Committee will be issuing a subpoena to this staff member. If this person appears before the committee to give sworn testimony, it will be one of just a few firsthand accounts given under oath regarding Trump personally pressuring the Ukrainian government to dig up dirt on the Bidens.

And, to end on a lighter note, in one of the few funny moments of today’s festivities, check out this exchange between Republican Jim Jordan, and Democrat Peter Welch.

Thankfully there’s a break tomorrow which means I can give the beanbags I was throwing at the tv today a breather and resume my binge watching on Disney Plus. The next public hearing will be held on Friday where former ambassador to Ukraine, Maria Yovanovitch will be testifying.
