This election that’s coming up on every level is so important because what we’re going to be battling is not just a particular individual or a political party. What we’re fighting against is these long-term trends in which being selfish, being tribal, being divided, and seeing others as an enemy—that has become a stronger impulse in American life.

Obama wasn’t perfect, but then who is? Trump is a psychotic, narcissistic, delusional demagogue who would run his supporters down with a bus if it suited his purposes.

He was smart, compassionate and caring. Even if some of is policies run counter to yours, overall Barack Obama was incredibly decent – and served 8 years with honor and distinction.

I hope he does. This can’t go on unchecked any longer. I hope the Trumpians on Capitol Hill pay a price for their complicity in allowing the fucking inmate to run the asylum as well.

There is going to be a major effort to suppress the vote in certain states and among a certain ethnicity. Voting in 2020 will perhaps be the single most important decision affecting your life you have made so far, as what happens in November will certainly impact our country for decades to come

I expect the election to be challenged all the way to the Supreme Court…there will be charges of voter fraud in every state he loses, which will be PLENTY

He’s already started setting things up today John, by threatening to withhold emergency funds to states who have mailed out applications for absentee ballots.

You are having elections??? In this atmosphere?? Wow, good luck Kim. Be safe while voting and got for the right man. Btw who do you think deserves to win??

The presidential election must go forward, although there are some who say that Trump will try to pull something underhanded to stay in office. Our Constitution has laws in place saying the election has to be held every four years, so I don’t think even he could cancel or postpone it. The problem is there’s a myriad of other things he can do to cheat and undermine, including what he’s already trying to do now in regards to voting by mail.
As far as who should when, I doubt you’ll be surprised given my previous political posts, when I say Trump has to go. He’s destroying the U.S. both on the national and international level, and what he’s done in regards to the pandemic is unacceptable. Joe Biden looks to be the democratic challenger, and while he’s not my first choice (I preferred someone younger and more diverse), I do believe he cares passionately about this country and its citizens. He’s also not mentally incompetent, so that’s a plus!

🙂 Alas Trump’s not governing in the interest of his public…… no, he’s driven obsessed by gaining a second term. (Btw I know I’m critical of Trump but I comfortable with that, when he stops interfering in UK politics, racist remarks about the London major then I’ll stop. I gather from ‘the book’ Trump said he wished he’d helped the Brexit campaign more! Incredible.)
