While the number of people who have died from Covid-19 aproaches 100,000, Mr. Trump has been occupied with more pressing matters. In addition to mocking his likely opponent, Joe Biden, for doing the responsible thing and wearing a mask in public, the Dear Leader has been a busy boy the last few days tweeting out conspiracy theories and disproven accusations against MSNBC host and former congressman Joe Scarborough. Mr. Trump has hurt feelings because his former friend has turned against him. Unfortunately, he’s putting an innocent family through hell in his deranged quest for revenge.
For those not familiar with the story, in 2001, Lori Klausutis, died while working in Scarborough’s Florida congressional office. Medical authorities quickly determined that she had an undiagnosed heart condition which caused her to faint and hit her head on the corner of her desk. This was a tragedy, especially as she was only 28-years-old. However, Scarborough was in Washington at the time, Lori had told friends that she wasn’t feeling well, and authorities determined no foul play had occurred.
Mr. Trump has periodically tweeted out his thoughts about this heinous conspiracy theory for the last three years, since the once friendly relationship between himself and Scarborough soured, but over the last several days his attahave intensified. So much so, that Lori’s husband wrote to Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter, out of sheer desperation.
Mr. Dorsey has just responded:
We are deeply sorry about the pain these statements, and the attention they are drawing, are causing the family. We’ve been working to expand existing product features and policies so we can more effectively address things like this going forward, and we hope to have those changes in place shortly.
In other words, Twitter is continuing to treat Trump’s garbage tweets as important historical missives, no matter who they hurt. This is pathetic and unacceptable.

This is terrible. He is a terrible human being, a bully, a narcissist, an egomaniac, and so on. I still can not believe this man is the president of the US. Twitter needs to stop this, out right lies should not be allowed.

I was born in the USA and my ancestors came centuries ago but I feel so ashamed of many of compatriots right now and our own President who should be relieved of office for his reprehensible behavior.

The catch 22 is if they suspend him even for a little while he’ll go through the roof and the rantings will probably get worse if they take him off the site completely same. And it will be ammunition for him to scream at his supports that he’s being censored that they’ll buy hook line and sinker.
Twitter’s really in a pickle here but honestly I kind of feel like Twitter is a hell site anyway and Trump is just the human embodiment of the very worst of Twitter (and humanity-at least on social media) run wild and now they don’t know what to do about him.

I don’t think for a moment this is actually Trump himself. His relentless barrage of tweets would take up the whole day, for most people. I suspect he has an office full of staff who just tweet this crap all day and night, and he signs it off without even reading it.
That doesn’t make it any better of course, I just feel he is incapable of managing a Twitter account.

You can usually tell which ones are from him and which are from an aide. His are full of spelling and grammatical errors and tend to ramble. I’m 100% sure that these particular ones are his and his alone.

It’s important to make it clear that these are NOT rogue tweets from some Aide to the President. He tweets, retweets and smear people himself – this is NOT being done on his behalf or without his knowledge. There are tweets that go out from his account from his staff, but these are his doing.

Absolutely John. As I said, you can tell the ones sent by aides by the way they’re written. They’re also ones that aren’t personal attacks on people, but are usually about some function that’s coming up or has already taken place at the WH.

I only replied because, here in the US, people are being lulled into thinking he is above these actions, and are willing to believe he’s not behind them – but he is and they are despicable. He made derogatory remarks about women in politics all weekend long –

Maybe I’m old-fashioned, but I still think that character matters, and the President keeps lowering the bar. It wasn’t that many years ago, the Republicans declared themselves the party of “family values.” I wonder how they manage to overlook all this bad behavior. This isn’t an attack on all Republicans because I could vote for someone like John Kasich.

We have to acknowledge that all those millions of Trump followers do have the same feelings and beliefs but they never had a mouthpiece in power before. Nothing the rest of us can say or do will ever change their minds and we need to concentrate on two main things—making sure people, especially undecided voters, know what he’s saying and doing and getting the vote out in November.
As for Dorsey, I think his approach to this particular issue is wrong BUT he’s a Democratic party supporter so he’s not 100% douchebag.

As far as his supporters go, I absolutely agree Lelia. I believe 100% that he could murder someone in full view and they’d still excuse him.
In respect to Jack Dorsey, he needs to take a stand. While as a media personality, Scarborough is fully able to defend himself, the Klausutis family has been putting up with this sh**t for 19 years, and Trump is fanning the flames and perpetuating their anguish. At the very least, Dorsey can slap fact check labels on these tweets as well.

I know the U.S. is not in its right state now but don’t make yourself sick because of it. I have been reading your post, you are doing the right thing posting about all this. I wanted to do so but I am in the council radar now because I posted about the most famous internet controversy in India. I post one more thing and my blog will be gone forever. We are getting emails to avoid instigating hatred or even talk about any of this as it might create a big deal of problems for the world.
