Genesee County, Michigan Sheriff Chris Swanson joining protesters.
I know so many of us have been transfixed by the horrifying images over the last few days of violence and destruction, as some peaceful protests have turned into rioting. And then of course there were the lovely images from last night of military police and soldiers firing rubber bullets and tear gas at peaceful protesters in front of the White House so the “Law and Order President“ and “ally of peaceful protesters” could have a photo-op in front of St. John’s Episcopal Church. But I’d like to call your attention to some images from around the country that aren’t getting as much attention.
Camden New Jersey
Houston, Texas
Santa Cruz, California
Coral Gables, Florida
Ferguson, Missouri
Fargo, North Dakota
Kansas City, Missouri
Black protesters protecting a white police officer who got separated from his unit in Louisville, Kentucky
Protesters forming a line in front of police officers to protect them from projectiles in Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Protesters stopping looters from breaking into a Brooklyn, New York Target store.

CNN has been showing some of it, but as par for the course, most news programs are focusing on the more sensational violent scenes. Fox News especially seems determined to depict any protest as out of control. But then you know who they’re pandering to. I truly despise the Murdochs.

I could not believe that trump did a photo-op in front of that church with a bible in hand!(oh yes, I could as everyday he shows exactly who he is!)
I love that photo of the black protesters protecting the white officer! 🙂

Thanks for the great photos of hope. I watched with horror where peaceful demonstrators were were attacked with rubber bullets and gas on orders of the president of our country. And I watched in utter disbelief when the hypocrite used the church and a bible for a photo op. I actually had nightmares all night long.

I found myself yelling at the tv “don’t fight back” because I was terrified the police and soldiers would open fire on the protesters. An Australian tv crew was attacked by police. It was disgusting. I try not to feel hatred toward anyone, but I have to say I thoroughly despise Trump and the politicians and Fox News pundits defending him.

As usual, the truth turns out to be far more nuanced, and a lot deeper than what’s shown in the media. I’m not sure I agree with showing more compassion than is shown us as a people by the police, but then I can definitely admit that I’m very much “in my feelings” on the subject. So I’m going to stand back and let these participants be in their feelings at the moment they had them. It’s different when you have to look someone’s n the eye.

I think I understand how you feel, although as a 55-year-old white woman, I’ve never walked in your shoes. With all the brutal images being shown I just wanted to show the more peaceful, positive ones.

We should never forget that there are so many more good police officers than bad ones. I read on twitter of a policeman resigning yesterday, after refusing to use tear gas against peaceful demonstrators. Trump is loving all this, as he thinks it will help to start the civil war he craves.
Best wishes, Pete.

The Arlington County Police Department has ordered their officers to withdraw from D.C. after that despicable attack on peaceful protesters last night so the Dear Leader could have his photo op with an upside down bible.

It’s just been horrifying scene after horrifying scene Mae. Although Fox News is doing their best to portray all the protests as violent, CNN has started to show more of the peaceful united ones.

This is great. I am so glad even the police is standing up to the brutality done by some police officers. Because of one rotten man, we can’t blame all of them. Thank you so much for making my day, Kim. This is super awesome. ❤✌😊💖💖
