Allan Lichtman is an American historian and some say a political prophet. Back in 1980 he developed a presidential prediction model that over the last four decades has correctly called every presidential election from Ronald Reagan in 1984 to Donald Trump in 2016. He also forecasted Trump’s impeachment. So, what does Professor Lichtman have to say about this year’s election? Take a look!

Whew! I was beginning to get worried…According to Lichtman’s keys it looks like it might be close, but the social unrest and dismal Covid response is causing tremors. Fingers crossed.

We still need to be vigilant. While he’s still behind Biden, according to a just released poll, his slide has stopped.

I know. I don’t take anything for granted when it comes to this election. This week, the Tennessee Supreme Court ruled that the Covid-19 virus pandemic is not a good enough reason to cast a mail in vote. However, those who have an underlying condition and their caretakers can request a mail in ballot. So, there are many, hurdles being put into place, especially in “red” states, to stifle the vote.

I had seen that video and taken heart from it. But one key is his dismissal of Kanye West’s candidacy. The Republicans are pushing that hard, hoping it can siphon off enough Black votes in tight areas. So Lightman’s emphasis on us, the voters, is probably the most important thing he says. We need as near a landslide as possible!

Kanye is in such a downward spiral right now that I’m hoping not many would throw away their vote on him. He’s already missed the deadlines in many states to get on the ballots, but I’m a little concerned about Wisconsin and Ohio.

We have removed a President after a single term THREE times since 1980…inclding once where the apparent “winner” didn’t win because of “hanging chads.” No matter how despicable the attempts will be, this will be a fair election.

I hope so John, because he’s going to pull out all the stops. He’s already interfering with the Post Office.

It’s not going to be a good end to 2020, that’s for sure! By the way, when they say how much money the Post Office loses, that’s because all of its profit are used for mandated retirement costs, something no other federal agency has to account for.

I haven’t heard of him. I always heard the predictor with the most accuracy was children’s magazine The Weekly Reader.

I hadn’t heard of that. I remember hearing about Professor Lichtman after the 2016 election because he was the only one who predicted Trump would win.

I think he’s wrong because COVID is an outlier. If it wasn’t for COVID, Trump would meet his analytical boxes and be projected to win. I personally think his model doesn’t account well for a pandemic, but election night will give us the answer.
