I’ve been up on my soapbox screaming about people needing to wear masks for the last few months, but one question that pops up repeatedly is which ones are the most effective. Duke university has just released the results that should help answer that.

Interesting to see that the fleece-style coverings are actually worse than no mask! The ones I use are black 3-layer washable cotton, which reach to just under my eyes, and below my chin. Similar to number 2 in the photo. I bought a pack of five from Amazon for £10.
Thanks, Kim.
Best wishes, Pete.

I was surprised too Pete. We wear the three layer disposable surgical masks and we also have two three layer cotton masks.

We don’t have N95s, but we have two 3-layer cotton masks and a box of the 3-layer surgical masks. So far they seem to do the trick.

Thanks. Now if more people will just wear one…!

My city just got a mask mandate. The only people not wearing masks though are the ardent non-believers. How much more science do we need!? This is great to share!

This politicizing of masks and social distancing is just insane, and honestly makes me wonder if the human race deserves to be saved.😕

There’s always hope! This has been a wake-up call in a lot of ways. So much good can come of it, good people just need to keep on trucking!

Now, if only we could get the anti-maskers to see reason!

Unfortunately thanks to Trump and Fox “News” I don’t think that’s going to happen.
