This is a worrying movement indeed, just another to add to all the already crazy ideas and theories.
Best wishes, Pete.

This group has been on the rise Pete for the last couple of years and they’re now on the rise in Europe. All kidding aside, they scare the heck out of me.

All those crazies scare me. The only good thing is that hey are not yet in one cohesive group.

They’re getting more and more organized and in November one will be a member of Congress.

Good grief, I had not heard of the Q thing, so many lunatics in this world. Scary stuff. HTF do people believe this stuff??

Well, I think of Trump as a cult leader, so… There’s this whole psychology behind people who gravitate towards cults and I think this is more of the same. What’s frightening is that they’re making inroads in government. I’d keep an eye out in the UK as well as there are already hotspots in Europe like France, Italy, and Germany

Like we haven’t enough problems in the world to deal with. 🙄

Crazy stuff. To me, this is the devolution of the far left political movement of Abbie Hoffman, Jerry Ruben and Bobby Seal in the 60s and early 70s. Then, under the LBJ and Nixon administrations, it was hip to distrust the government, and rightfully so. However, this movement also mainstreamed some crazy government conspiracy theories that, sadly, the press was sympathetic to. QAnon is the other side of the coin. There are grains of truth in some of the craziest conspiracy theories. We should have a healthy distrust of government and a logical distrust of conspiracy theories, in my opinion.

What’s different about this movement is that believers fervently worship one small segment of the government, Trump. I’m not sure what grains of truth there are in their beliefs: widespread pedophilia and sex trafficking in the government, cannabilism, shadowy Jewish cabals…🤷🏻♀️

Well, I find grains of truth in the Epstein sex trafficking scandal that I believe has its hooks into both political parties. Remember, I signified “grains.” I’m not making excuses for QAnon–God, forbid– I’m just stating that crazy conspiracy theories are not the exclusive property of the far right, that’s all.

I understand. I’m still waiting for the other shoe to drop regarding Trump’s relationship with Epstein. I find it very interesting how he wished Maxwell well multiple times. But you’re right. Both the left and the right have had their fair share of crazy conspiracies. What frightens me about QAnon is that they’re becoming more organized and are making inroads in the government.

Yes, it is horrifying that QAnon is making inroads into mainstream government. I absolutely, unhesitatingly agree.

Maher is hitting it out of the park lately. LOL! 😀
The biggest irony of QAnon weirdos is so many of them are guilty of the very things they rant against… and it always comes out.

It’s shocking that we are allowing insane conspiracy theories to be given mainstream coverage – helping to flame the lies…what is going on with us?

I’m a bit torn about this John. On the one hand, I don’t like giving them the attention, on the other hand they’re gaining power and I think people should know about them.

Exactly. They don’t deserve “serious” attention, but they deserve to be called out for the wildly “wrong side of history” conspiracies they are trying to influence people with…really despicable!

Do you ever wonder if we are living in a computer simulation? And the inventors are just ratcheting up the game to see how crazy they can make it? When I look around at the last 3 1/2 years and the people who support trump and now this QAnon, it seriously make me wonder. This can just not be reality. We must be living in some kind of alternate universe. This is going to all end in violence. This is not Jim Jones with 900 cult members, this is thousands and growing.

At this point that would be a reasonable explanation Mary.
