My wife and I just watched the 3 hour “Directors Cut” of “Doctor Sleep” and it’s incredibly good…the extra time allows the characters more time to develop…directed by the guy who just did “The Haunting Of Bly Manor” on Netflix and it’s the same idea…great storytelling, slower pacing for depth and context, and the requisite shocks to remind us it is horror after all!

I thought you’d like the director’s cut more John.

Really did…the length suggests it should have been a mini-series, as the shocking moments don’t arrive often enough with cutting into the heart of the story…it’s what movies usually get wrong with King material! “The Green Mile” runs three hours and we love every minute of it!

We struggle coming in and going out, makes sense the middle would be much the same!

Leave it to King to give us a quote that is so true, but also quite sad😔

King is too good of a horror writer so I stay away from his writing and movies, with the exception of Stand By Me . This quote is excellent though.
It reminds me of Beckett’s in Waiting For Godot: “They give birth astride of a grave, the light gleams an instant, then it’s night once more.”
