You do have to feel a bit sorry for turkeys. They get it twice here, Easter and Christmas. Just as well they are ugly, rather than cute! ๐
Best wishes, Pete.

I do. We donโt tend to eat turkey here at Easter. Itโs usually ham or lamb, although I havenโt been able to bring myself to eat the latter since I was a kid.

You know, I was watching He Who Must Not Be Named, do the annual turkey pardon (yep thatโs a thing) yesterday, and I asked Tom why is it that only the fluffy white turkeys get pardoned every year?

Blimey even his turkey pardon is racist????

After much searching I looked up all the presidential turkey pardons which I believe started informally with Kennedy, and theyโre all white! WTH?๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ

MAybe because they are so unusual? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a white one. Mind you I’ve only seen one in a zoo so what do I know ?

Iโd love to see them do away with the whole stupid pardon ritualโand it was truly ironic that that guy, in his pardoning frenzy, could fit one innocent being into the otherwise unsavory, corrupt bunch.
I liked the big-boned sparrow best of all.
Happy Thanksgiving!
