From an early age, we learn that heroes are superheroes, save lives, rescue folks, keep us safe, or serve in the military. These are noble pursuits, but how can a regular person like you or me do something heroic?
If you have never heard of Rob Kenney before, please take a lesson from him because he is the definition of heroism. When Kenney launched his YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNepEAWZH0TBu7dkxIbluDw on April 1, 2020, Rob had no idea he was about to become an Internet sensation. What started as a gesture to do something good has blown up to nearly three million followers on his “Dad, How Do I” YouTube channel. As soon as I heard about his story, I felt inspired and wanted to bring it to others’ attention.

There are plenty of other YouTube “how-to” videos such as his, but not many where guys also dole out a lot of sound dad advice at the same time.

I’m glad other bloggers are touched by this story, Kim. It will be interesting to see where this is in a year from now. I saw a video where Rob’s adult daughter talked about how proud she is of her dad. Very touching!

I just saw a post on facebook about a week ago from his videos and thought it was neat. I had no idea about his background or reasons for his posts, but love that I do now.

Why aren’t teachers regarded as heroes? They and librarians do the most heroic and long-term things: educating our society.

I was a children’s librarian for 26 years and worked closely with teachers and regarded them as heroes.
