I’m sure many of you, like me, have been glued to your televisions or computer screens, horrified at the events which unfolded in Washington D.C. Ponder this: not since the War of 1812, has the Capitol Building been breached.
Make no mistake, this was no protest. This was an insurrection.
This was an intolerable attack on our democracy, and it was encouraged by Mr. Trump, his sons, people like Representative Mo Brooks and Rudy Giuliani and other cowardly Republicans.
After encouraging sedition, and praising the rioters throughout the day, Mr. Trump has proven once and for all that he is unfit for office. There are more aides and GOP sources who are admitting he has “lost his mind.” Their words, not mine. A woman is dead and her blood is on his hands. In my opinion in the fourteen days we have left to Biden’s inauguration, Trump can continue to do untold damage, and in light of that should immediately be removed from office by invoking the 25th Amendment.
As much as I despise Trump, I do not say this lightly. However, it is my belief that he has lost all sense of reasoning. He is not a political leader, he is a cult leader who has purposely and repeatedly lied to his followers who hang on his every word. This country cannot afford another two weeks with him in power. He’s just too dangerous.
January 6, 2021 will go down as one of the darkest days in US history and it’s one we should never forget.
