Wow! Well said! I have watched in amazement (and not the good kind) as people I know who claim to be mature followers of Jesus Christ have become more and more attached to and defensive of President Trump.
In my last 5 years as a pastor the only sermons that got significant pushback (from a minority, but a sizeable minority) were ones about not condoning or excusing evil for the sake of temporary gain or about being law-abiding citizens (our governor is a Democrat). When I came right out and said that who one votes for is a matter of conscience (i.e. you don’t have to vote for Trump) I was called un-American by one board member and told that it was the worst sermon I ever preached by another member. I am hoping and praying that these events are a wakeup call and reminder.

Unfortunately, I fear not as well (especially for older members who seem to have grown up under pastors who conflated the Gospel and the GOP into a single message)

Just when I think the stupidity, incompetence, the radical, extreme, deplorable couldn’t possibly get any worse… It’s Trumped😳. I’m so scared of this being Trumped🥺.

Biden needs to be protected. Now it’s not just Trump 💔. His followers… The idiot dangerous ones. The terrorist thugs. This needs to be handled very carefully and delicately by washington. He’s dangerous… His minions are more dangerous. He has an army. There’s potential for worse. Much worse… 💔
