That ‘tenuous link’ is so true. I don’t have any Irish connections, so have never celebrated this day. But I hope everyone has a great time, despite the lockdowns.
Best wishes, Pete.

I’m only 1/4 Irish, but I was raised on Irish history and lore, and my maiden name is McCarthy, so I’ve always been fascinated by that side of my genealogy.

Most people do cling to being Irish. Even if the link is so tenuous as to be laughable. Your quarter is pretty solid. I have no link at all, and that doesn’t bother me in the least. It’s a different country, and I feel zero connection to it. Even though most people there speak English. (Not Irish…)

Kim it is not ironic that St Patrick’s Day, Cinco de Mayo and vampires are more celebrated in America than where they first started. In fact, on the latter Transylvania has now adopted American’s affinity for vampires for tourism dollars. Keith

Happy St. Patrick’s Day Susan. We lost our internet until a little while ago due to a storm last night. I confess I’m extremely nervous about these forecasted ones. Our area is going to be in the danger zone between 3 am and 8 am. You stay safe as well!

No thanks goodness. We’re in Houston County and Tuscaloosa is about 4 hours away from us. Since we moved here almost two years ago our area has been under several watches and warnings, but haven’t actually had a tornado touch down. I hope our luck holds!
