April is Autism Acceptance Month, April 2 is Autism Awareness Day

Thanks to my friend Rae, at powerfulwomenreaders for her post on Autism Acceptance Month/Autism Awareness Day. it reminded me that I wanted to post about this as well. Many of you may be aware that my grandson is on the Autism Spectrum and my BFF has a son, who is now a young adult, that also has autism. I was the principal at a school that had three classes of students with varying learning issues, many of them with autism. As you can see, this is something that is near and dear to my heart

“My Shot,” by Vax’n 8

A group of doctors in California who call themselves Vax’n 8 have put together a fantastic rendition of My Shot, from the musical Hamilton. Check it out!

I can also happily say that my husband and I received our first doses of Pfizer’s vaccine a couple of days ago. He had no side effects, and I just had a tiny rash around the injection site and some muscle pain in my upper arm the next day. I had the same reaction to past flu shots, and they’ve completely disappeared now. We’re looking forward to getting our second doses the end of the month!
