As a recovering (read that retired from paid compensation but not from libraries) I love this post and need to reblog it.!

Thank you! I was a children’s librarian for 26 years.☺️

I knew there must be a kindred connection somewhere. I was a post (like public) librarian for 15 years (mostly administration) and a systems librarian in academia for the last 15 years. The best career I could hope for.

I almost didn’t include it because it technically wasn’t Library-specific, but I couldn’t resist!😉

It’s a good week to have, but our library is currently closed due to Covid restrictions.
Best wishes, Pete.

LOL! I wanted the library, too 😀 And to be fair to Harry, it was only at Hermione’s insistence.

I love, LOVE this, Kim! I am desperate to get back into the children’s room at the library. Just being there is the best feeling. Right now they have an outdoor walk-up window which is like a cabana covered in fairy lights with very appealing book displays. Hats off to librarians who make things work!

I wish more people would use libraries, even if it is just to peruse books and see what they want to buy. Our library is closed, but we can order online and pick up, or of course read ebooks or listen to audiobooks. I love the library, great post Kim.

Thanks Carla. Libraries have gone out of their way this past year to make themselves as accessible as possible.

I love all of these! I definitely think I missed my calling — I’d like to think there’s a parallel universe somewhere where I’m a librarian!

Libraries have definitely gotten creative over the last several years in what they circulate and how to connect to the community.
