Hello Wonderful Reader!
Thank you for stopping by! My name is Kim and I lived in Massachusetts until mid-2019 when my husband and I decided to move to Alabama. I used to be a children’s librarian until I had to go on disability five years ago. I miss it dreadfully, but where one door closes, another one opens right? I love blogging and most of my posts are book related. My favorite genres are: Historical Fiction, Paranormal Romance, Urban Fantasy, High Fantasy, Horror, Suspense, Romantic Suspense and YA Fiction in just about any form. Phew! In essence, I guess you could call me a Bookaholic!
I also have a weakness for superheroes, and I’m enjoying (for the most part) the resurgence of them in popular culture. Don’t ask me who my favorite is because I can never make up my mind. Right now I’m just loving: The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl, Gotham, Marvel’s Agents of Shield, the Thor and the Avengers movies, Siderman, and the Iron Man movies. I also love the Batman movies with Christian Bale and Deadpool.
I’m a Sherlock Holmes fanatic, and I love his current incarnation brought to life by Benedict Cumberbatch. although I also enjoy the older ones with Basil Rathbone, and the movies with Robert Downey Jr.
Finally, I’m truly terrible at all the technical things that go along with blogging. I battle with linking, and I’ve yet to figure out how to add badges. If you choose to follow me I hope you don’t mind putting up with my travails. I’m working on it!

Hi Kim, I saw you on Sally Cronin’s blog recently. I am following now and hope you will follow back. I am an author with 24 books and counting for all ages and all genres. I also love superheroes! My favorites are Superman, Spiderman, Antman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman and all the rest. Ha!

It’s nice to meet you. I followed the link from Jay Cudney’s blog, and I am delighted you are a Pendergast fan! I enjoy historical fiction, and many varied genres. As a writer, I favor mystery and suspense flavored with folklore and urban legends.
My husband works at a library part time (after retiring early from state government) and one of the things he is always talking about is the children’s programs and how wonderful they are in encouraging young readers.

It’s lovely to meet you Mae Clair! The Pendergast series is one of my favorites so it’s wonderful to find another fan. I find myself nagging my followers to start the series whenever I review one of the books.
It sounds like we have similar tastes in genres. I’m looking forward to exploring your blog.

Hi Kim, Happy (almost) New Year! I believe my WP site is now a bit easier to follow – like you I struggle with the technical angles of site management.
On a totally different topic, I’ve just published a modern fantasy. It’s ‘kinda’ literary in the sense that I paid a lot of attention to the tone and feel of the novel, but I’ve also worked on making it read quickly – the hero is in hot water from the first paragraph and stays that way for the rest of the book. It may or may not be of interest to you as it doesn’t seem much like the stuff you usually review – it’s pretty ‘edgy’ and set during San Francisco’s Summer of Love. This seemed like a great setting for a fantasy.

It was nice to learn more about you and your interests, Kim. Those opening doors are a testament to your positive outlook on life. My favorite superhero series was Jessica Jones and crew. I haven’t tried Agents of Shield and I’ll give it a go! Happy Blogging.

Hi Kim, You actually do seem to be following my WP blog now, so whatever you did worked. Honestly, I’m getting fed up with WP; it seems to be a glitchy platform and their tech support is useless if you run into an issue.

Hi Kim, Following up on my note above, once you start reviewing new stuff, here’s the blurb for ‘The Lords of the Summer Season’. It’s definitely modern fantasy, but, again, this may not be at all to your tastes, so if it doesn’t look like your cup of tea – once you start reviewing new stuff again – just let me know.
Bradan grew up in the Camelot and grew famous during the Summer of Love. He’s nearly immortal, a talented musician, but only a mediocre magician.
That’s unfortunate because he’ll need more than pretty lyrics to confront a psychopathic Celtic warlord and a Welsh god hell-bent on collecting souls. They’re also near immortal and Bradan clashed with them 1500 years ago. They haven’t forgotten.
Theirs is a dual through history with savage fights in Camelot and Renaissance Florence. Now it’s 1967 and they’ve found him again, and they lead an army of specters intent on murder. Bradan’s only friends are his haunted motorcycle, his lunatic band-mates, and a witch with uncertain loyalties. There won’t be much love this summer unless Bradan defeats a warlord and a god. And his friends die too if he doesn’t with the fight.
This fantasy with a dash of psychedelia, explores creativity, vengeance and romantic attraction

This definitely sounds like something I’d be interested. I love contemporary fantasy, and I’m intrigued by your MC having his origins in Camelot. I’ll let you know when I have time to start taking requests again. Happy New Year!

I’m thrilled – I just got a very positive review from the Midwest Book Review for ‘The Lords of the Summer Season’ (the novel I mentioned to you last year).
The novel is definitely modern fantasy with a magician protagonist and various witches (including Morgana le Fey), wolves, and ghosts, all of this set in the Summer of Love. HOWEVER, the novel is also pretty ‘edgy’ and may not be your cup of tea – you’ll know within 10 pages if it works for you.

So how exactyl does one submit a book for your persual?
I’ve discovered that self-promotion, specifically getting reviews, is an obstacle I may never get around, but I’ll never give up.
My first novel, “Into The Dark” is Book One of the Infinite Crossover Crisis, is a genre-busting adventure that brings together original and public domain heroes to free an all-to familiar world from dark forces.
