Alicia Keys
“Good Job”You’re the engine that makes all things go
And you’re always in disguise, my hero
I see your light in the dark
Smile in my face when we all know it’s hard
There’s no way to ever pay you back
Bless your heart, know I love you for that
Honest and selfless
I don’t know if this helps it butGood Job
You’re doing a good job
You’re doing a good job
Don’t get too down
The world needs you now
Know that you matter
Matter matter yeahGood Job
You’re doing a good job
You’re doing a good job
Don’t get too down
The world needs you now
Know that you matter
Matter matter yeahSix in the morning
And soon as you walk through that door
Everyone needs you again
The world’s out of order
It’s not as sound
When you’re not around
All day on your feet
Hard to
Keep that energy
I know
When it feels like the end of the road
You don’t let go
You just press forward
You’re the engine that makes all things go
Always in disguise, my hero
I see a light in the dark
Smile in my face
When we all know it’s hard
There is no way to ever pay you back
Bless your heart
Know I love you for that
Honest and selfless
I don’t know if this helps it butGood Job
You’re doing a good job
You’re doing a good job
Don’t get too down
The world needs you now
Know that you matter
Matter matter yeahGood job
You’re doing a good job
You’re doing a good job
Don’t get too down
The world needs you now
Know that you matter
Matter matter yeahThe Mothers
The Fathers
The Teachers that reach us
Strangers to friends
That show up in the end
From the bottom to the top
The listeners that hear us
This for you
You make me fearlessYou’re doing a good Job
You’re doing a good job
You’re doing a good job
Don’t get too down
The world needs you now
Know that you matter
Matter matter yeah

Black History Month, Kenny G, Lovely Lyrical Lines, Lyrics written by Bob Thiele & George Weiss, Sandro Torricelli, What A Wonderful World
Thanks to it being a Leap Year we have an extra day to celebrate Black History Month. Because of all the doom and gloom going on right now, I’m determined to end this month with something uplifting, and who better to do that than the incomparable Louis Armstrong, and his timeless What a Wonderful World? I’ve also included a spectacular lyric video created by Sandro Torricelli I hope you enjoy. There’s a lot of ugliness in the world that’s so easy to stay focused on, but it’s important to remember to, in the words of Whoopi Goldberg: Take a little time to enjoy the view.

One pill makes you larger, and one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you, don’t do anything at all
Go ask Alice, when she’s ten feet tall
And if you go chasing rabbits, and you know you’re going to fall
Tell ‘em a hookah-smoking caterpillar has given you the call
And call Alice, when she was just small
When the men on the chessboard get up and tell you where to go
And you’ve just had some kind of mushroom, and your mind is moving low
Go ask Alice, I think she’ll know
When logic and proportion have fallen sloppy dead
And the white knight is talking backwards
And the red queen’s off with her head
Remember what the dormouse said
Feed your head, feed your head
~ White Rabbit, Jefferson Airplane ~

inI know I just shared one of these posts with Taylor Swift’s You Need to Calm Down, but today, a never-before-released music video from the incomparable Freddie Mercury was released by his friend/collaborator, David Clark. The 1986 video, filmed on the empty stage at Dominion Theatre in London, showcases not only Freddie’s breathtaking vocals as he sings accompanied only by a piano, but also, twenty-eight years after his death, proves how timely and relevant he continues to be.
