The prolific and much beloved children’s author and illustrator, Eric Carle has sadly passed away at ninety-one years young. Children, parents, teachers, and librarians owe him a debt of gratitude for the enormous contributions he made to children’s literature. A message posted online from his family said he died Sunday and included this poem:
In the light of the moon,
holding on to a good star,
a painter of rainbows
is now traveling across the night sky
Here is his obituary in the New York Times.
