Our Constitution does not begin with ‘I, the President.’ It begins with, ‘We, the People.’
I am proud to be one of thousands who have come to Washington to make clear that we will keep working for a democracy in which we are linked as human beings, not ranked by race or gender or class or any other label.

Same here Sarah. There are thousands of people in Boston which is only 20minutes away from where I live, but I couldn’t even consider going because of my health issues which is soo frustrating!😕

Sigh. If only all of us could be there, maybe the ones in government would take notice.

I hate to be cynical but I think if no matter how many people are there Trump and his cronies will be dismissive and say something like “Oh. Most of the marchers are professional agitators.” That said, we have to keep pushing to make our voices heard!💁🏻

I have done a lot of protest marches in my time. I was even protesting against the Vietnam War back in 1968, in London.

It doesn’t always change anything, but sometimes, it does. And when that happens, all the marches have proved their worth.
So I say ‘good luck, and well done’ to the marchers.
Best wishes, Pete.

There wasn’t a march near where I live or I would have gone but my friend in Dallas is at the one there and same for my friend in San Francisco. I love marches it’s a great way to come together and say we want things to be different. Especially when you are feeling disillusioned you can meet so many others who feel the same as you.

Beautiful! I wish I could have gone, I watched it broadcasted and it was so touching to hear so many people’s voices and the amount of people putting into action their beliefs.

I’m always careful commenting on the politics of another Country other than my own, being uniformed could get me 🙂 into hot water. At work on inauguration day I watched Trump’s speech but found myself drawn to Obama’s face, there’s a British saying called ‘a penny for your thoughts’, I’d love to have known what was crossing his mind behind that thoughtful expression.
I’m proud of you for making a stand, reminds me I should have said and done more at the time of our disastrous Brexit election.

Thanks Andrew! I found myself wondering the same thing watching him. And did you catch some of Michelle’s facial expressions? She definitely doesn’t have a poker face. Yesterday, after listening to Mr. Trump’s inaugural speech, and seeing that the pages referring to climate change, civil rights, and LGBTQ had already disappeared from the White House’s website, I got deeply depressed. But after watching the marches not only in Washington and all over America, but in so many other countries as well, I have renewed hope.

Yes we heard about the climate change removal, deeply depressing. I’m sad to see Obama go, such an intelligent and graceful human being, and incidentally I’ve always had a soft spot for Michelle, intellect is a very sexy quality in a woman perhaps one day she’ll run for office, or perhaps I’m a little ill-informed here.
NEVER give up hope!

I honestly think Michelle Obama was one of the best First Ladies this country had! She’s already been asked if she’ll run for public service, but maybe if we keep nagging… Andrew, thank you so much for your supportive words. They truly mean a lot. I think the events of today is a reminder that Mr. Trump lost the popular vote here by almost 3 million. He and the Republicans may have temporary control of this country, but they do not have a mandate. These marches today aren’t just about women’s rights. They’re about everyone’s right to feel equal and safe regardless of race, religion or gender. Phew. Sorry for the rant!💁🏻

Dear Kim,
As you know, I was there. It was beyond amazing. The number of people who participated in the Women’s March far exceeded the number who attended the inauguration events. I am so proud of all the “nasty women.”

It was an incredible day and one for the history books! Approximately 2.9 million people peacefully protested here in the U.S. And thanks to all the other marches around the globe, the numbers go up to over 4 million!😊

I read your post Lisa and (I think) I commented. Anyway, kudos to you! I wasn’t able to march due to health issues, but I watched everything on the tv and it was truly inspiring! Well, except maybe Madonna’s rant when she mused about blowing up the White House!

Yep. I wasn’t all that surprised by what she said although her White House comment did make me cringe. And I heard today the Secret Service is investigating her comment.

It’s quite impressive to see that a lot of people have joined this march. People out here in Montreal, Canada, also went out to support the cause. Great stuff! Hopefully, everything will lead somewhere bright and warm. 🙂
