Last Saturday, UCLA’s Katelyn Ohashi competed in the Collegiate Challenge in Anaheim, CA. After completing a spectacular gymnastics floor performance the 21-year-old rightfully earned a perfect 10 and the video has gone viral. If you haven’t seen it, give yourself a treat and check it out.

Well done to her! I envy such agility. I never had that, even when was young.
And she’s not even ‘skinny’, like so many young women who compete in gymnastics.

I agree though. She has joie de vivre that comes through in her performance and it’s so nice seeing a curvy girl competing in gymnastics.

This came across my Tumblr dash. I really enjoyed it, and yeah I did note she’s a little rounder than what we’re used to seeing on the gymnastics floor, which is great.
I loved how her teammates were totally supporting her. They knew her whole routine, and were right there with it, clapping and cheering. They seemed to love it too, and seemed to be having as much fun as her, as if they knew she was doing something really special.

Amazing talent, strength, and performance. I understand she’s had to deal with a lot of pain and injury along the way. What a triumph for her!
