For further proof that 2020 is indeed the year from HELL, gifted actor and inspirational role model Chadwick Boseman has died at the young age of forty-three.
He took on the roles of true life iconic figures Jackie Robinson, James Brown, and Thurgood Marshall among others, and of course there was his unforgettable portrayal of King T’Challa in Black Panther. Here is his obituary from The New York Times:
He had been privately fighting colon cancer since 2016, yet kept acting which boggles my mind. Below you’ll find a last text message from Chadwick that actor Josh Gad has kindly shared which illustrates what a beautiful soul he was.

I don’t normally shed tears at actors demises, but I have for him. Such a modest lovely person and a great actor. So so sad. 😥

I woke up early this morning and this was pretty much the first thing I heard. I was shocked to my core. Such a terrific actor, and one year younger then me, he passed way before his time. It’s an incredible shame. This year keeps on getting worse and worse. This was a lovely tribute that you wrote here Kim.

I saw the news break last night and was so surprised and saddened by it. 😦 I’m only familiar with him as Black Panther and have seen interviews with him. He was a brilliant actor and seems like a very nice and humble man. He will be greatly missed.

Such a lovely and talented young man; truly a significant loss.
I don’t know his prior medical history, but I wrote a post some time back about the importance of colonoscopies in younger people because the age of colon cancer onset is dropping and young people—and their physicians—often don’t consider the possibility if they have ongoing GI problems. Thus, diagnosis doesn’t occur until the cancer is advanced.

It was so shocking and I was surprised by how much it hurt to know he’s gone. I’d only seen him in Black Panther. He had in film and life an air of a true King who made others and myself feel seen.

Everyone else has pretty much already stated my feelings. This news saddened me so much. What a brave, tenacious man he was to have been going through all of that and still accomplishing so much. 😔 He’s inspired me.
