It’s that time of year again, where much needed attention is called to the fact that censorship is very much alive and well. I have a crazy week ahead of me, so I won’t be spending as much time up on my soapbox as I have in previous years regarding this, but check out this list of the top ten most frequently banned and challenged books of 2019.
Retweeting this now…thanks for sharing, so important to know what goes on in our country to suppress voices!

Any book censorship is not acceptable to me. Even the worst political books need to be read and understood, so that we ‘know the enemy’!
Best wishes, Pete.

Harry Potter has been a target since the first book was published here. Didn’t you know the series promotes witchcraft and satanism?😱

I hope your week won’t be too rough Kim. Please take care. Also….I hate censorship on books, but hey that’s no surprise right? 😊

“Characters that use “nefarious means” to attain their goals” LOL really? I know Harry Potter has been discussed for a long time but that is absurd. It also makes me sad to see so many wonderful LGBT books censored in local libraries 🙁. Thank you so much for sharing this! No book should be censored… how else can we learn and make our own opinions?

I finally read My Sister’s Keeper during Banned Books Week. I can’t believe all the various reasons cited for banning it over the years.
