I love Matthew West! At one concert I went to he somehow got the crowd to sing along with a song about being nervous and peeing his pants.
Most of his songs are based on personal stories that people send him about how God has worked in their life.

A lot of his songs are about brokenness and restoration. Most are pretty light and peppy, and even the more solemn/broken ones are uplifting (“Moved by Mercy” usually makes my wife cry because it pretty much describes her life).
