This is me after seeing the above pictures of Stephen and Owen King’s forthcoming collaboration, Sleeping Beauties on Hodder & Stoughton’s Twitter feed:
If you’re a fellow Constant Reader, you know exactly what I’m talking about! Thankfully there’s only 8 days left until this 720 page behemoth comes out!
I ordered mine last night, but it’s a different cover. This one is so much prettier than the one I am getting.

Hmm. Is it the UK edition?

Not that I am aware of. I got it from Book of the Month Club. OR rather, that is who I ordered it from.
It’s got red writing and a face on it.

Yeah…. all I can think is if/when I get the chance to read that one thank goodness they invented Kindles as there’s no way I’d want to sit and hold that for several hours.

I usually order his books in print, but my fibro/neuropathy has been acting up so I think I’ll stick with the ebook for my Kindle.

I thought it was just me but ebooks can help with the arthristis and fibro in my hands as well rather than holding a big book.

Absolutely Dani. I notice a huge contrast especially when I’m having flare-ups.

Right?! I wish it was this Tuesday! And his other son, Joe Hill has his new collection of short stories called Strange Weather, coming out the end of October. This is going to be a very Happy Halloween courtesy of the King family!😊

Awesome! I prefer the US one because it’s more mysterious 😀 I know! I’m counting down the days!!

Will be interested in your review when it comes out, I used to read everything he did, but for me he went ‘off’ after The Stand, and I gave him up.

I understand. I’ve had some mixed feelings about some of his more recent books, but I loved Revival as well as his Bill Hodges trilogy.

Like FR, I am a ‘former’ King reader. Like Dean Koontz, and others, I thought it all became a bit ‘formula’. No doubt your excellent review will follow soon.
Best wishes, Pete.

Thanks Pete! I’m keeping my fingers crossed for this. The premise sounds wonderful and I can’t wait to see how the father/son collaboration works out.

I know! But they’re worth the time invested, I swear! One of my favorite books by him is The Stand, which is over a thousand pages long! But the characters and world-building are amazing so I don’t mind the length at all.

I’ll have to check out that one!! Carrie is one of my all time favorite movies, so I still need to read that book too!

This is good news, especially for my mother. She used to be a very loyal King follower, but like a lot of readers mention above, she sort of stopped reading him too. Lately however she has rediscovered him, and is now reading a lot of new novels by him, and a few that she missed. I think she will be very happy that this one is know on the horizon 😊 Thanks for sharing this news 😀

I I’ve had mixed feelings for some of his books over the years, but I’ve never given up on him because he’s capable of such brilliance! 😊

Ohlala! I love your Muppet GIFs that one looks like he’s doing the shimmy with his chest. You know like the strippers do to people’s faces. Cool beans!

Or she’s pissed off she’s shaking her tities for an old, sloppy drunk guy so this is her face while she does it. Or she’s constipated😉

I was a stripper in my younger years and I’m sure I’ve made this face a few times so I can relate. “This guy grabbed my ass but he just tipped a 100 dollars so I’ll angrily shimmy in his face” *knocking him senseless with my tits* Yep just another day as an exotic dancer.

I have considered it. I’ve done it before as a youngen and people said I was hilarious and my life experiences were crazy but relatable. But man I’ve seen some things to say the least and that’s just me not my “others” as I call them. Believe it or not I’m way less wild.

720 pages! Being serious I read at perhaps a slower pace than most, that’s fine we’re all different 🙂 but I like Stephen King so we’ll see.

It is huge, even for him. I’ve preordered this for my Kindle rather than the print version which is the format I usually get his books in.

Ah! Love th Muppets
Th Muppet Show and Sesame St were constant faves @ Brad Manor back in th day.
I don’t know about th US, but in th UK, I was shocked to learn that “muppet” has now become another term for idiot, jackass, tosspot, etc. Th only connotations that spring to my mind are fun, and learning
and – oh yes! – Stephen is KING
Had his On Writing constantly renewed from th library – wish I had my own copy
and this? 720 pages u say? Ooh, I don’t know… :-0
Cheers!

😱I didn’t know that about “muppet.! That’s just not right,😡
I have my own well worn copy of On Writing, along with E.B. White’s Elements of Style.☺️
I think I’m getting Sleeping Beauties on my Kindle. I love his long books, but I’ve been in a lot of pain lately and I think the print copy will be to heavy and unwieldy.
